Simulating degradation is an intriguing merging of nostalgia and chaos. The visualisation of past eras and the appeal of the former manifest themselves in different ways in this (pop) culture. The concept is inspired by ancient styles such as Victorian and Roman, in which the decline plays a prominent role. All this in a contemporary and modern version.
